Green to the Scene

Welcome to my new blog, Green to the Scene.  Wondering what that means?  Well, it’s what we are doing every day.  Introducing clients to green builders, buyers to green lenders, sellers to our green marketing advantage.  Matt Hoots is bringing sexy back, and Jeff Cole has his triple bottom line, everyone has something, and Carol Cahill and I, with all of our friends, are Bringing Green to the Scene!  I have been maintaining a blog called TheBuckheadBlog for about a year and a half and a great deal of it’s content deals with things that are green, so I decided to start a new blog fully devoted to what moves me. 

What moves me you ask?  Well, I am a Realtor & EcoBroker with Harry Norman, Realtors in Atlanta, GA (Buckhead).  Last November I earned my EcoBroker designation and it really opened my mind, life and business to a whole new world of ideas, conceptions and opportunities.  Never before have I felt so good about what I do on a daily basis.  As Realtors we have the opportunity to influence buyers and sellers as they make typically the most important decision of their lives.  The opportunity is to show them better homes that will last longer, be more energy efficient and lead to a healthier life for their family.  That ability to change the way people perceive their home is huge.  How efficient is the HVAC?  Are the ducts properly sealed?  Is the building envelope tight?  Is the home properly insulated?  Is there an opportunity for solar?  i.e., what’s the house’s orientation?  These are questions that might not be of importance to the buyer, but they should be, and that’s where we come in.
