Greening the MLS and Atlanta Green Home Sales
The Atlanta Green Home Sales Report that I produce each quarter was recently mentioned in an article in RisMedia. The article describes a program that I worked on along with NAR (National Association of Realtors), EcoBroker, USGBC, Neighborworks America and many other organizations. It is a toolkit for MLS’s (Multiple Listing Services) across the country to help green up their systems. We did this in Atlanta for FMLS by adding searchable green features and Green Building Certifications. Each quarter I publish a report which has consistently shown that certified green homes sell in less time and closer to list price than a standard new construction home. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
