Recycling in Atlanta

Today Martha went to the Home Depot and got us a new recycling bin…finally!  We have had the worst time since the City of Atlanta decided to only pick up our recycling every two weeks.  As we have become more diligent about recycling, our trash can virtually remains empty until the night before trash pickup and we put one bag in there.  On the other hand, we have probably six bags of recycling that we first off have to find room to store until the City picks it up, and then on trash day we have to stack bags all over the curb full of recycling.  It seems silly, maybe they should just pick up trash every two weeks instead…  Probably won’t happen anytime soon.  Carol Cahill has recently become the chair of the “Sustainability” Committee in her neighborhood, North Buckhead.  They will focus on recycling and hopefully come up with some great ideas that other neighborhoods can follow.  I am excited to see what they come up with.  Here are some pics of my new recycling bin.
