Green Power to the People in Georgia – Solar Power That Is

February 19, 2010

Great article in the Atlanta Business Chronicle today about changes to Georgia Power’s Green Power Program.  The new rule states that 50% of the power generated for the program will now come from Solar Power, compared to 10% previously.  The remaining 50% will come from Biomass.  It was also amended to state that all of that solar power must be generated in Georgia.  This is a big step and will hopefully generate more usage in Georgia going forward.  This is enough to make me call today and join.  Follow this link to sign up for residential Green Power https://customerservice.southerncompany.com/corporate/green_residential_signup.asp
