2009 Green Home Sales Statistics in Atlanta

April 19, 2009

I have put together an updated report showing the most recent statistics for Green Certified (LEED for Homes, EarthCraft House, Energy Star) homes sales in Atlanta.  The report includes New Construction sales in Fulton, Cobb, DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties priced above $300,000.  I have included the first report that documents sales from September 2008 through February 10th 2009.  FMLS added the certified Green Home criteria in August so this is the most accurate picture.  I have since updated the numbers and they are year to date through April 16, 2009.  I did this so you would have some data to speak to at all of your Earth Day gatherings next week.

What you will see is Certified homes are selling closer to list price in a much shorter time period, almost half.  We can’t afford to keep this information to ourselves, let’s spread the word!

    Hi Carson and Carol,

    Great report!
Yes, this is happening throughout the country. Green Real Estate Education has green educated over 6,000 in the real estate arena, including mortgage and inspector professionals, with 20,000 more scheduled in 2011 and 2011, more than any other company in the United States. After teaching 300+ in Chicago, to get their MLS to go green over 2 years ago, I was personally pleased to see Chicago MLS go green. How is the MLS in Atlanta doing? Keep up the good work and passion!

This design is incredible! You obviously
know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and
your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job.
I really loved what you had to say, and more than that,
how you presented it. Too cool!
